{Modern} Scarlett Style.

All things Vintage are so inspirational to me - oh, and I absolutely love vintage.  An iconic movie that I recently saw (again), Gone With The Wind is one of my favorite stories and I could not help but think about it when I took and began editing these.  The beauty of this silk dress (by Betsey Johnson) falling and blowing in the wind was truly beautiful.  I feel like Anna, the amazing model, was channeling Scarlett herself.  These are the last from the beautiful farm that we were at.  We really encompassed the entire farm with this look - from the front of the house back to the farm; each shot looking more and more like a little piece of Tara (and always still having some fun).  I hope that these give you the feeling of old Southern Style with the modern day touches that we love and wear day to day.

This beautiful home is just that.  It is lived in and used everyday, and is still this beautiful and the epitome of amazing Southern architectural style.

The mixture of the horse stall and silk was such a fun mixture...

Always having fun - such a fun day!  Thank you so much pretty Anna!!

Southern Style to Love {& Live By}. {part iii}

These are from the same site as the other pictures.  This farm is by far one of the most beautiful places on earth.  I took some random shots of what I thought was Southern beauty.  To me, fashion is a huge part of everyones lives, these have no 'fashion' in them that you would see in Vogue; but they do have fashion that is just as important - the Southern {Style} that is imperative to Southern fashion.

I never realized how colorful and vibrant chickens, of all things, could be.  So beautiful little chickens!

This tree blew me away. The organic way that these roots grew, all coiled and reaching for the water was amazing.

This is actually what travelers would tie their horses to in old Antebellum homes.  I think its very pretty.

{Fashionably} Stable.

The mixture of vintage, new and southern lifestyles produce some of the most stunning inspirations.  These photos really bring out the beauty of all three.  These horse stables are beautiful.  Located at a stunning farm in Franklin, TN, their rugged persona was the best backdrop.  This Betsey Johnson dress is only bout 5 years old but always looks stunning with the playful dear on the front and flowy sleeves.  The necklaces are vintage and new - an Egyptian Eye, Daniel Stevens monogrammed pendant and a locket from the 1920's.  And we cannot leave out the boots - all in all, a perfect match.

Never a dull moment - laughs and hoe-down dances that I had to share...

Neutrals with {Contrasting} Brights.

Pattern and color are some of the biggest inspirations that I ever have and probably ever will.  These photos are some that I loved taking and I love the contrast that came out them.  The contrast of the bright burgundy against the calm neutrals of this farm are stunning.  I find it very refreshing.  The mixture almost seems not right, with such a rich color in a natural setting, but I actually think it came out better than I expected and really meshing well.  This dress has been a great one to have - it gets worn a ton.  And the boots, well they go with everything out here....

Stylish {Farming} Attire.

There are days in the fall that truly are breathtaking, especially in the south where you can see for miles and miles because the air is co clear.  These shots are from one of those days.  It was perfect.  I love this look because this is exactly what gets worn when 'working the farm', and its beautiful.  The effortlessness of the entire outfit is amazing, not to mention the comfort.  Comfy, cool, classic - yet another vital asset to the Southern Style that we all love.

Southern Style to Love {& Live By}. {part ii}

The most recent CMA's this week in Nashville brought country music's finest to the city.  Most of these artists love performing so much that they just perform all over the place in Nashville for free, small concerts.  I was lucky enough to catch one, Jason Aldean.  You saw a little bit of his guitar and imagery in the last post, but here are my favorites of the Dirt Road riding Tattooed Southern Artist.

I actually loved where I was standing.  I was not in the front row - far from it actually.  I think the crowd livens the performance and brings it more to life, and Southerners do know how to make some Southern noise....

 I think that they really do love performing - I know I would.

The other best part about being in the crowd is that someone will always scream and make the performer look right at you....

Southern Style to Love {& Live By}. {part i}

So, I have decided to do a little bit of an on-going post.  I recently spent an afternoon on Lower Broad in Nashville.  I will forever love the lure that this city holds.  I also love how I was the only actual Nashvillian that I spoke to.  There are tourists all over the place dressed head to toe in their 'cowboy' apparel.

I've decided to post some of the styles of Nashville.  From free live music scenes, to random articles of clothing (and boots), to just really cool images that encompass the south, and especially Nashville.  I promise that there will be more fashion editorial-like posts, but I am really inspired by these.

There was a free concert that was also promoting a new show, Hell on Wheels.  This musician was just standing there waiting for me to snap the picture and I could not be happier with how it came out... Perfect southern scene.

There were conductors there, too - this train actually rolled down the tracks to get to Nashville.

The scene of Lower Broad.

Jason Aldean played a concert to promote the Hell on Wheels show.  This is just one of my favorites - I will post more tomorrow of the actual show, but this shot with the cowboy hat is just perfect.

Love for the {Written} Word.

It hasn't really gotten that cold here in Nashville yet; cooler, but not cold.  Thankfully for me, I have a great outside patio for some afternoon reading.  I am loving this months magazines.  Everyone always seems to love the September issues (hence the movie, etc), but I love the magazines afterward that really touch base with the point of magazines: for the love of the written word.  These have a ton about people, artists and fashion.  The mixture is quite alluring and I cannot ever seem to get enough.  I strongly suggest grabbing these, they are well worth it.  {The Nashville one is really great!}
