Couture's {Southern} Style.

Runway shows always put me in awe, almost as much as the red carpets during this award season.  As the movie The Help, shot in Jackson, Mississippi, has been doing very well throughout these award shows, I cannot help but really think back to that movie and how much I loved it (especially the clothes).

This led to another realization while I was watching the Dior 2012 Couture show just a week ago in Late January: some of these dresses look a little familiar, comfortably and happily familiar....

Hilly Holbrook, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, wears a beautiful a-line dress with a bold pattern. Somewhat typical for us Southerns even today...

Spring 2012 Couture Dior a-line bold printed dress. I love the ode to the traditional dress that we still love in the South.

Celia Foote, played by Jessica Chastain, wears a tight little number that encompasses a women's body, with her Southern made Coca-Cola, no doubt.

Spring 2012 Dior Couture. Not only showing off the women's body, but doing a damn good job of it, and with red, no less...

Celia Foote again, getting ready for a spectacular dinner, dressed to the nines in her form fitting, enhanced neckline to show off the shoulder dress with a small, yet bold, print.

Spring 2012 Couture Valentino. Without the lace overlay on this dress, the silhouette is strikingly similar, as well as strikingly beautiful.

Overall, it may just seem like there is nothing but normal here, but Southern Style is undying and far from the norm.  Some may say that these looks are not just for Southern Ladies.  But, being Southern has something more than a dress can solely hold.  That dress is enhancing a Southern Ladies person. The Help embodied this to perfection and I love that Spring 2012 Couture has a little bit of Southern personality that only a true lady with Southern Style can uphold.

{In & Out} Decisions.

Boots inside or outside jeans? Which one do you like better?

They said they did not mean to match, but I doubt that....

Happy Monday!

{Bringing} In The New Year.

In getting ready for the New Year, we cannot forget the most important thing: New Years Eve Plans!  There are some places here in Nashville that are going to be amazing Southern scenes to bring in your new year!  Where will you be?

There will be live music from icon Lynyrd Skynyrd, among some other greats under this sign...

There is never a dull moment in here...

The Iconic, The Stage.

Let the countdown begin....

I know that these are just images of the Iconic Music City, but this is the city of dreams and where Southern {Style} begins.  I will get back to the fashion aspect of Souther {Style} after the New Year, but for now, enjoy the pure beauty of the Southern {Style} that was gracefully given to us.  Happy Holidays y'all!

{Cowboy} Boots. {part ii.}

I was randomly downtown yesterday and found myself shopping in more shoe stores than walking around.  This guy was standing outside one of the many boot shops in Downtown Nashville.  I kind of fell in love with these boots and the jeans...  Very much Southern {Style}.

I could not resist this picture.  Its a huge wooden boot outside a boot shop on Broadway.

It was such a nice day....

{Cowboy} Boots.

I love walking through Nashville and seeing the awesome, usually crazy, styles that are all around me.  I always seem to see the coolest cowboy boots.  Here are a few that I saw recently and just love.  I am going to keep an eye out for more!

These boots make those tennis shoes behind them look shameful.

{Modern} Scarlett Style.

All things Vintage are so inspirational to me - oh, and I absolutely love vintage.  An iconic movie that I recently saw (again), Gone With The Wind is one of my favorite stories and I could not help but think about it when I took and began editing these.  The beauty of this silk dress (by Betsey Johnson) falling and blowing in the wind was truly beautiful.  I feel like Anna, the amazing model, was channeling Scarlett herself.  These are the last from the beautiful farm that we were at.  We really encompassed the entire farm with this look - from the front of the house back to the farm; each shot looking more and more like a little piece of Tara (and always still having some fun).  I hope that these give you the feeling of old Southern Style with the modern day touches that we love and wear day to day.

This beautiful home is just that.  It is lived in and used everyday, and is still this beautiful and the epitome of amazing Southern architectural style.

The mixture of the horse stall and silk was such a fun mixture...

Always having fun - such a fun day!  Thank you so much pretty Anna!!

Southern Style to Love {& Live By}. {part iii}

These are from the same site as the other pictures.  This farm is by far one of the most beautiful places on earth.  I took some random shots of what I thought was Southern beauty.  To me, fashion is a huge part of everyones lives, these have no 'fashion' in them that you would see in Vogue; but they do have fashion that is just as important - the Southern {Style} that is imperative to Southern fashion.

I never realized how colorful and vibrant chickens, of all things, could be.  So beautiful little chickens!

This tree blew me away. The organic way that these roots grew, all coiled and reaching for the water was amazing.

This is actually what travelers would tie their horses to in old Antebellum homes.  I think its very pretty.
